A couple more and pull-backs

A comment in my post below asked to see some pull-backs showing how I set-up the photos of Elliott. Here are a few more pictures I took using the same set-up, as well as a pull-back shot.

I just love this one, modeling a onesie I made!

Because this day was unusually bright (it snowed! Yay!) I was able to shoot these at ISO800. My settings were 1/250 sec, f/3.2, 50 mm.

A few more:

Our guest room is about the only place in our house that is light enough to take pictures. (Sometimes our kitchen or den work, but not as well.) I have to wait for a really bright day in order to keep my shutter speed high enough, even if I am shooting at ISO1600 (which I hate doing, by the way.)

Currently however, our guest room is our furniture-baby-stuff-to-sell storage room. Sigh.

To say it's cramped is an understatement. I often can't use my sharpest lens if I want to get a full body shot...I can barely get away with it with E since he is still small and doesn't move. Even still, I'm up against the corner between the cabinet and the window, with my head against the window. Elliott would be on the bed, on the blue blanket, facing at an angle somewhat facing towards the window, with the white backdrop behind him.

The backdrop is taped to the wall. :) I have a fairly tight window to work with, esp for mobile kids, so it can be difficult not to get the other stuff (ie: storage stuff) in the background. The white backdrop looks gray because it's in a shadow, but I don't mind a gray background.

I placed a wood board under the blanket (on top of the mattress) because otherwise Elliott's feet/hands sink too far in the mattress and I can't see them, plus he falls over.

I almost always still need to run noiseware.

Yay! Thanks for posting this :) I'm struggling with finding good places to take pictures of my little guy with this dreary low-light winter weather. Yours look beautiful!
